Much better to take a careful history from the donating mother, test her for HIV or other serious conditions of concern and maybe even require a waiting period to guard against transmitting an infection to a baby receiving her milk during the "window period" before that infetion is detectable in a newly infected mother (such as HIV). But PLEASE stop pasteurizing everything!! I put it on my breasts when my nipples got sore and I put it on my daughter's bottom when she got the occasional diaper rash. Breast milk is a wonder. I actually drank my own breastmilk when I had mastitis, I had antibiotics on standby but wanted to avoid so I let the fever run its course, plenty of fluids, breastfeeding & after having read about the microbiome I exprssed some of my milk into my glass of water a couple of times. We'll it all worked & within 24 hours was on the mend. If this stuff was known by more we could reduce the use of antibiotics and strengthen the health of our species.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14204032623584519000noreply@blogger.com
