I cue-fed my son for his first 3 weeks, and then decided I might be reading his cues wrong and that I should wait at least 2 hours between every feed (though the pediatric nurse told me to wait 4 hours). During weeks 3 to 6 I realised that he had stopped gaining wait, consulted with the paediatrician, who wanted me to supplement with formula. I decided to give breastfeeding one more week, putting baby to breast as often as he wanted and doing nothing else. Soon the breastfeeding relationship was back to running smoothly. I'm so glad I didn't fall into the 'low milk supply' trap. I always want to tell mothers who think they don't make enough milk to just give it one more chance where they basically hibernate with their baby and let the baby up their supply. Great article!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6086901437746951003.post-41771352142517256932013-03-01T09:00:58.118-08:002013-03-01T09:00:58.118-08:00Hi JJ: The interactive links are active on VisualM...Hi JJ: The interactive links are active on VisualMD but not here. I added a link at the bottom of Figure 2 to the interactive library of breastfeeding images and information over at VisualMD Health Centers.
